- Talk with your Study Abroad Advisor about programs that offer the types of courses you are looking for or that are especially strong in your academic discipline.
- Discuss your course planning with an academic advisor or a counselor from the Office of Academic Advising - what should you take on campus versus off campus and how will you progress in your degree?
- Know that the salience of various aspects of your identity shift in different places, cultures, and environments
- If there are aspects of your identity that play a factor in your program or location choice, talk with your study abroad advisor or with a staff member in a support office such as the Intercultural Center , the LGBTQ Center , Women's Center , the Counseling Center , etc.

To what extent is cost and budgeting a factor for you in your program or location choice?
- Explore opportunities for additional funding from the Center for Global Programs and Studies, your program, or other scholarship providers
- If you receive financial aid at WFU, connect with the Office of Financial Aid to discuss how your aid package will transfer abroad
- Talk to your study abroad advisor about how finances might impact your program or location choice
